In the old days the images on a disk would appear to move when the viewer looked through slits at a revolving disk. In this new set you spin the disks like a top in a darkened room and the built in strobe light turns on and off achieving the same effect as the slits did in the original version. You can see the results in this movie I created on YouTube.. The set comes with coloring book style disks with a variety of geometric or cartoon animations that can be colored with the supplied markers. (Warning: this toy employs flashing lights that can cause seizures in sensitive people and should definitely not be used by those with epilepsy or similarly triggered conditions.)
